The client was badly burned by a heated saline bag which was placed under his back during a routine operation at Yale New Haven Hospital. The client required painful skin grafting procedures. The hospital admitted negligence but was willing to offer only a fraction of the ultimate jury verdict in an attempt to settle the case.

Motor vehicle collision - $775,000 settlement - May 2001 - Andy Savvaides settled an individual's case where the victim was thrown from the bed of a pick up truck when a co-worker drove the truck head-on into a tree. He sustained injuries to his neck and back, and the accident resulted in a separated left shoulder which required surgery, fractured ribs and a cardiac contusion.

Non-Economic Damages Verdict of $60,000 plus Offer of Judgment interest brings Total Judgment to over $87,000 - October 2001 - Andy Savvaides represented an 84-year-old woman who was rear-ended in a minor impact collision. She sustained minor injuries to her neck and left knee and did not complain of an injury until over a week after the collision. She later consulted with a few doctors but ultimately was not treated. The individual was a passenger in a vehicle struck in an intersection when the Defendant ran a red light. She sustained an aggravation of pre-existing neck and lower back injuries eventually requiring a lumbar fusion.

Lumber Yard Injury - $575,000 Settlement - September 2007 - A contractor sustained a serious neck injury when he was struck on the head by a bundle of insulation. The contractor was walking past a storage barn in the lumber yard when one of the yard's employees threw a bundle of insulation from the second story of the storage barn. The bundle struck the man on the top of his head, knocking him to the ground. As a result, he sustained a herniated intervertebral disc injury at C5-6, which required a C4-5 and C5-6 anterior cervical discectomy with autologous bone graft fusion and C4-6 anterior cervical plating.
