Traumatic brain injury, or TBI, is often referred to as a silent epidemic because it affects many people who are often unaware of their situation. Traumatic brain injury has historically been characterized as mild, moderate or severe. However, the lawyers at the Stamford, Connecticut firm of Casper & de Toledo are equipped to challenge anyone who says that even a mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) is not a serious and potentially life-altering injury.

To help secure your future if you or a loved one has suffered a TBI, contact our traumatic brain injury lawyers, serving Connecticut from offices in Stamford. Schedule a consultation—we can help.

At the law offices of Casper & de Toledo, we are committed to ensuring that the legal system works as it should to bring about justice for victims of traumatic brain injury (TBI). We bring to our cases dedication, expertise, and repeated success. Our acquired brain injury team is lead by Senior Partner Stewart Casper who is nationally recognized for his work representing brain injured clients. In 2010 he was elected as the Chairperson of the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group (“TBILG”) of the American Association for Justice after having served for six years as the Editor-in-Chief of the “Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group Newsletter” and on the TBILG Executive Board.

Casper is a leading advocate for the need to reclassify traumatic brain injuries. He contends that the vast amount of data collected by the Veterans Administration from the medical records of injured veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan combined with the results of advanced neuroimaging techniques that have been standardized over the last ten years, warrants closely examining the archaic methods that classify head injury patients at the time of injury—rather than based upon scientific evidence that can be collected during the recovery phase. Casper lectured on this subject at the Annual Conference of the North American Brain Injury Society in Minneapolis in October 2010.
